Participation of the FGBI “ARRIAH” in Agro Food Drink Tech Expo Georgia 2015

The 15th International Agricultural Exhibition Agro Food Drink Expo was held in the Exhibition Centre Expo Georgia (Tbilisi, Georgia) on November 18-20, 2015. The event was arranged under the auspices of the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture, Agricultural Projects' Management Agency of Georgia (APMA) and Georgian Farmers’ Association.

Agricultural producers of Georgia, representatives of international players in the sector and specialized establishments took part in the exhibition Agro Food Drink Tech Georgia 2015.

Participants of the Exhibition featured different items of agricultural machinery, seeds, fertilizers and chemicals, processing and packaging technologies, latest water application systems, specimens of food industry, new technological approaches to animal maintenance, feeding, treatment and management.

Specialists of the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” under the jurisdiction of the Rosselkhoznadzor took an active part in the event. During the first exhibition day staff-members of the Centre arranged and held a scientific conference highlighting in their lectures the following topics:

  • Diagnostics and prevention of avian viral diseases (present-day diagnostic and preventive agents);
  • Sheep pox and goat pox (spread, diagnostics, identification of agents and prevention);
  • Epidemiology of avian viral diseases in present-day commercial poultry production (spreading factors and clinical manifestation of major viral diseases in commercial poultry production);
  • FMD epidemic situation worldwide;
  • Lumpy skin disease, present-day epidemic situation, prevention and control measures;
  • Rabies: situation worldwide, control measures.

The participation of the FGBI “ARRIAH” in the Exhibition generated the widespread interest among participants, exhibition visitors as well as representatives of local mass media. Specialists discussed issues of scientific cooperation with foreign colleagues.
