The on-site assessment of laboratories for their compliance with accreditation criteria (the extension of the scope of accreditation) took place in the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate FGBI “ARRIAH” Branch in the Republic of Crimea. The assessment experts made the official conclusion on the compliance of the Crimean Branch laboratories with the accreditation criteria approved by Order of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade No. 326 of May 30, 2014 and the requirements of GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2009 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories” in the declared scope of accreditation. Besides, the competence and the professional skills of the laboratory stuff were also highly appreciated.

As a result of the conducted survey the FGBI “ARRIAH” Branch in the Republic of Crimea has significantly improved its capacities in conducting tests for the compliance with Technical Regulations of the Customs Union, Sanitary Rules and Regulations, instructions, GOSTs and methodological guidelines. It includes the detection of toxic elements, radionuclides, antibacterial substances and mycotoxins in food products, raw materials, grain, compound and animal feeds. It is especially important that the following tests can now be conducted within the Branch: the detection of antibodies against avian influenza virus and Newcastle disease in HI, the detection of antibodies against African and classical swine fever viruses by ELISA and the detection of avian influenza virus and ASF virus by PCR.

Head of the Branch Sergey Zaitsev pointed out that the accreditation might have a significant positive effect on the improvement of the epizootic situation in the Crimea and Sevastopol. Time-saving tests and up-to-date laboratory facilities enable early detection and containment of infections dangerous for humans and animals in the peninsula.
