Main areas of Laboratory’s activities:

The activities of the research and development unit – Laboratory for Poultry Disease Prevention – are aimed at the development of drugs and methods for prevention of poultry virus diseases. Within the framework of the main objective the activities of the laboratory personnel are aimed at solution of the following tasks:

  • Carrying out of researches on topics, approved by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, and in accordance with terms of reference, transition cards and organizational and methodical plans, approved by the Director of the Centre. Participation in the realization of federal and regional programmes and projects, making of scientific forecasts and carrying out of scientific and technical expertise.
  • Carrying out of serological and epidemiological monitoring aimed at detection and evaluation of spreading levels of infectious bursal disease (IBD), infectious bronchitis (IB), infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT), fowl pox, egg-drop syndrome-76 (EDS-76), hydropericardium syndrome (HPCS), Marek’s disease (MD).
  • Carrying out of researches aimed at the development of pilot and pilot-industrial technologies of live and inactivated vaccines against infectious bursal disease, infectious bronchitis, infectious laryngotracheitis, fowl pox, egg-drop syndrome-76, hydropericardium syndrome, Marek’s disease; preparation of normative and technical documents for vaccines and their approval.
  • Introduction of developed technologies of live and inactivated vaccines into large-scale production and carrying out of control for compliance with technological processes.
  • Production of live and inactivated vaccines and diagnostic agents for poultry virus diseases (IBD, IB, ILT, fowl pox, EDS-76, HPCS, MD).
  • Regular monitoring of finished product quality to confirm the compliance with requirements of normative documents, accuracy of technological modes prescribed for maintenance of production lines intended for production of preparations.
  • Development of serological and molecular-biological methods for diagnosis of poultry infectious diseases (IBD, IB, ILT, fowl pox, EDS-76, HPCS, MD).
  • Elaboration of a complex system of measures for prevention and control of poultry infectious diseases.
  • Carrying out of a patent search on a topic “Poultry virus diseases”.
  • Rendering of scientific and methodical assistance to veterinarians from regional laboratories and poultry farms of the Russian Federation.

  • Associated inactivated emulsion vaccine against egg drop syndrome-76 and infectious bronchitis;
